BLOG: Weekends Still Rock!!
19/10/2009 @ 4:07 pmThe novelty of having weekends off work has yet to wear off. 3 weeks in and it still tastes as delicious as fresh warm bread. I woke up today at the leisurely hour of 11, had a brief panic that I should be at work, remembered I now have the key to the weekends and snuggled back in the duvet. AH HEAVEN!
The majority of this weekend was covered in paint. I donned my ‘painting trackies’ and got involved. I’m bored of hearing myself say I’m going to put on an exhibition. I have repeated this sentence so many times with no results and it’s getting dull. I’m now on a mission to actually do it! I beat my personal best of two paintings in a weekend and am pretty pleased with how they turned out. One is of my dad circa 1980’s (click here to see the full work and the progress of the painting) and the other is of my friend Lolly having a right old laugh. I love the original photo of her as it brings back lovely memories. We had been for dinner and were running for a cab after a few gins and her little toe, exclusively, popped out of her stiletto. It was hanging over the edge like a little sausage. We cried with laughter. (It was probably funnier at the time!)

Deadmau5 attacked the Roundhouse in London’s Camden Town with his finest mixing wizardry last week, and I was happy to be there as a witness. I hadn’t seen him live before this and it was an experience. He bounced out in his mandatory mouse head and had it large, hard and loud! The hardcore ravers down the front thrashed about losing brain cells by the second and the lights and lasers spun about the spherical venue like a disco ball. The Mau5 smashed it!
I tried a similar assault on Fleet. I dont profess to being a techno wizard or Zane like mixmeister, but I love to play good music as loud as it will go. There were good vibes in Jaxx night club on friday and I got to road test my new GLAM head phone that the wonderful Natalie at Crystyled made for me!
I’m obsessed with them and could stare at them for hours, discovering a new little moment every time. The skulls, anchors, flowers all adorned with crystals and glam rock bling! I’m sure they made my djing better too! ha!
I signed a shoe, a travel lodge key card and some boobs! Happy days!
Back to radio today for another week of music, chitter and fun! Tuesday=electric proms and the promise of Robbie Williams most anticipated show in years. Thursday is officially Paris Hilton day! Fearne and…Paris Hilton is on ITV2 10pm. All my mates are coming over to watch it dressed as Paris! I may dress as one of her dogs? Is that taking it a little too far?
Peace
