Blog: On Yer’ Bike!!
04/02/2010 @ 11:37 amI’ve sat on a bike more than any chair this week. The Sport Relief training is in full swing. I think taking part in a Sport Relief challenge must be a bit like when women talk about having a baby. You know when they say “oh its awful but then you forget how bad it was and do it all again”. That’s how I feel right now. The Kilimanjaro climb was tough, exhausting, and intense. So WHY am I doing it all over again!? This time of course it’s the relay cycle challenge so no mountains involved, but it’s equally as painful.
At the weekend myself and David Walliams, team captain of said challenge, headed out to Marlow where our wonderful trainer Greg lives. He took us on a 90 minute cycle of doom around the local hills! I unintentionally dismounted (fell off) twice, and David got 4 punctures in 90 minutes which I believe is a world record! We look the part in our red shiny jackets and fancy cycling shoes but are generally terrible at cycling. I’m more than nervous about this challenge looming!
As well as getting saddle sore I’ve been working on my clothing range. I have just done a photo shoot for my new Converse range that comes out soon on very.co.uk and for my summer range out in a month or so. I hope you like it and wear lots of it when you go on your summer holidays! Summer feels so far away but we must remember when de-icing the car and donning thermals that it’s got to arrive at some point!
The radio show has been busy busy recently too. Alan Carr popped in this week and we had a right giggle. He’s one of my fave guests to have on the show. I’ve been twarting again too, this time my chosen subject was Alex Reid due to the out of the blue vegas wedding. I may send it as a wedding gift as I’m sure they’ve got toasters and silver cutlery coming out of their ears.
The Brits are only around the corner too so I’m getting amped for that. It’s one of the funnest nights of the year with surprises lurking at every corner!
In the meantime it’s back on the bike!
