Christmas with the Cotton Woods

At the mere mention of Christmas I can smell cinnamon, taste mulled wine and feel the warmth of a cosy fire. I love Christmas. I start getting excited about it in October, planning how I’ll decorate the house and what food we will cook.

Baking, of course, comes in to play in a major way. Cute cupcakes decorated in a festive way are quick and easy, and look gorgeous at a Christmas party.

I also adore gingerbread houses. Every year at Radio 1 Tom Odell would buy me one and bring it to my studio. It was hard to eat them because they always looked so beautiful!

I really enjoy getting the Christmas table ready for the big day and theme it differently each year. This photo is of one of my favourites from a few years ago. I used small stockings to hold the knives and forks and I find a good scented candle is a great way to add ambiance to the setting too.

I love to decorate the banister with tons of greenery and make the tree as sparkly as possible. Last year I found these glittery skulls which I love.

When the end of December hits and I have a bit of down time I like to dye my hair pink and have festive nails. Last year I painted these little Christmas trees.
